What is the origin of Community Futures?
Employment and Immigration Canada (now named Human Resources Development Canada), starting in 1986, was responsible for establishing 90 Community Futures organizations throughout rural Western Canada.
In 1995, responsibility for Community Futures was transferred to Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) who continue to provide core funding assistance.
Community Futures Stuart Nechako
Community Futures Stuart Nechako (CFSN) began operations in 1994 (formerly known as Community Futures Development Corporation of Stuart Nechako) as an independent, non-profit organization.
