Open houses planned for gold, copper mine proposal

Open information sessions have been set for Terrane Metal's proposed $917-million Mount Milligan gold and copper mine in northern B.C.

The mine is the closest proposed operation to Prince George, 155 kilometres northwest of the city.

The open houses are part of the provincial government's environmental review process, which includes a 45-day public comment period. The comment period will begin on Oct. 2 and ends at midnight on Nov. 16.

There are four open houses being held:
- Nov. 3 -- Fort St. James Seniors Recreation Hall, Fort St. James, 3-8 p.m.
- Nov. 4 - Prince George Civic Centre, Prince George, 3-8 p.m.
- Nov. 5 - Mackenzie Recreation Centre, Mackenzie, 3-8 p.m.
- Nov. 6 - McLeod Lake Indian Band gymnasium, McLeod Lake, 3-6 p.m.

Presentations are being held at 6 p.m. in Fort St. James, Prince George and Mackenzie.
